A Few Random Reviews
Here’s a few things I’ve gotten lately, and a few short thoughts on each of them…
I really enjoy Wii Sports, and thought that this game would be similar. It’s $50, but comes with a new controller, so essentially you’re buying the controller and getting Wii Play for $10. Honestly, I don’t know if I’d even pay $10 for the game. There’s 9 games, and they really don’t have much replay value. I’ll play the duckhunt wannabe and the billiards game again, and that’s probably it.
Wow…Allison and I were glued to this documentary. It may be one of the most disturbing movies I’ve seen. The biggest issue I had with it is that it makes it seem like all evangelicals are like the ones depicted in the film, and I would say that the ones in the film are definitely a minority in terms of people I know. It was like a car wreck…you don’t want to look in case you see some bloody bodies, but you can’t stop looking in case you see some bloody bodies.
The Blogging Church by Brian Bailey and Terry Storch
I’ve been meaning to write about this for a couple of weeks since I first read it. This was a quick, easy book to read on blogging, that gave some basics and helped me to think through how to better use blogging. I’d highly recommend this to every pastor; and since I’ve read it, I’ve been encouraging several pastors I know to begin blogging and to get the book to figure out why and how. It’s an important tool for the church to use. This is a book I’ll reread when I’ve got some spare time, in order to really figure out how to be more effective with this. This book will be helpful if you’ve never blogged before, or if you’re a seasoned veteran.
